Nestled in the lap of Dhauladhar Mountain Range, McLEODGANJ is often known as LITTLE LHASA for its Tibetan population. It is the head quarter of the Government of Tibet in exile, second home to his Holiness DALAI LAMA and Tibetan refugees. This is my experience from our trip to Mcleodganj from Delhi.
McLeodganj is located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh and is situated at 2000 feet above sea level. To the south of McLeodganj you have the stunning view of Kangra valley . The snow capped mountains in the north call the thrill seeker in you to come and witness the most gorgeous and spell binding sunrise from the top of snow clad mountain. Cradled between the snowy mountains and Kangra valley, McLeodganj will guarantee you postcard worthy backdrops. The famous Parvati Valley
is just around 178kms from McLeodganj.
I went on this trip with my school friends after we gave our final 12th board exam. It was the first trip on our own. We booked a bus packed our bags and left for the trip. It was an amazing experience, we did a lot of adventure on the trip.
On Day 1, we rented motorcycles and started exploring the town. We visited the great Dharamshala cricket stadium, tea garden, Dal Lake and the small local markets.
On Day 2, we made a booking for trekking servicez and went on the adventurous Triund top trek which was almost 9hrs long. The view was mesmerizing when we reached the top. The snowy top was almost visible from the triund top.
So I was proud of myself that I made this decision on going on that trip as it was the best experience of my life...
